ABOUT

I'm Jing Li, a designer & design researcher focus on the data-driven user experience and connected objects in different contexts. In this portfolio, you can read all about my experience, vision, and enthusiasm.

With international education experience in multi-disciplines and professional working experience in R&D technical companies, I have a matured understanding of Industry 4.0 and a vision of industry transformation with state-of-the-art technologies. To be a designer
with rapidly changing innovation and technologies as material, my responsibility is to utilize all kinds of materials to elevate human life with smart and harmonious solutions. The most important value I gained from
years of design experience is the comprehensive perspective to solve problems. Shifting from a human perspective, such as engineers, clients, users, different stakeholders to smart things perspective, my interests
moved from product design to UX&UI design, then end up on data-driven IoT design. I like to explore more than human-centered design, by rethinking the relation between humans with objects and the relation
among all types of objects in the coming future. I am infatuated with developing our future coexistence with other kinds of materials and intelligence that serve a healthy and independent lifestyle.

As a designer in the 21st century, I have seen the integration of the human world with interactive object systems, especially the development of IoT, which motivated me to create an ecosystem between users
and products. Therefore, I developed several competencies and skills that support me to dive into my interesting subjects, especially designing for methodological approaches to building IoT ecosystem and technological realization for turning objects to be smart. My expertise areas in terms of ID Tu/e framework are Users&Society and Technology& Realization.
I believe that the skillset offers me a comprehensive perspective to understand the complexity of design challenges and allows me to realize my concepts in the design&research process.

In my process, I start to apply the designed framework from my master project to analyze the living context of my target group, where I use my skill and attitude in terms of User&Society competence. Moreover, I also apply and develop the skill of User&Society in the using of research and
design methodologies and user evaluation such as designing for psychological measures.

I enjoy my academic experience at TU/e when I can dive into the subjects encompassing different issues related to the design and deployment of interactive systems to develop my interdisciplinary skills.
